Texas Data Literacy Program


The Office of the Chief Data Officer, within the Texas Department of Information Resources, is pleased to provide the Texas Data Literacy Program educational series. The videos in this program are designed to deliver information related to data management best practices, data sharing, and data analytics. This training program is targeted at all State agencies. The State of Texas strongly encourages data literacy training for ALL employees and it is expected that each agency will develop and implement agency-specific training. IR has begun working on a plan to bring you agency-specific training in accordance with the State of Texas’ recommendations. IR will also keep you posted as the State develops and releases additional content. (87th Legislature, SB 475, Section 2054.137 & 2054.515)

5. Data Privacy An introductory course describing data privacy and right to information laws impacting Texas state agencies and institutions of higher education.
6. Data Ethics An introductory course describing data ethics as it pertains to Texas state agencies and institutions of higher education.
7. Data Security An introductory video about the importance of data security.
8. Data Sharing Best Practices An introductory video about Data Sharing Best Practices.
9. Data Governance Roles Responsibilities An introductory course describing roles and responsibilities within data governance.
